Front Desk – Pet & Pet Parent Guest Services

Overview

Welcome all guests (human and canines), promote services, and manage day to day activities at the front desk

  • Retail experience: ordering, pricing, inventory, etc.
  • Help Pet Parents find solutions and tools to enrich their dogs’ lives
  • Maintenance of “front end” of Klub: customer perceptions, organization, etc
  • Administrative Work: filing, answering phones, scheduling, special projects
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, and basic computer skills
  • Multitasking skills
  • Knowledge of dogs in general: leash handling, basic obedience commands
  • Ability to handle dogs up to 100lbs, on leash
  • Available to work weekdays and weekends and holidays
  • Help others throughout the Klub when needed
  • Helping with Belly Up for Adoptions Rescue needs: walking, helping Volunteers, etc.

Bellyrub Klub Day Training Academy Instructor

Job Description: Instructor focused on Enriching/Educating all Canines’ in our Day Training Academy(s) at the Bellyrub Klub.  These Instructors MUST be Certified!

Critical Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Instructor in Day Training Academy sessions, individual and group
  • Offer canines a variety training options and approaches to learning
  • Share knowledge base with other Trainers
  • Help develop curriculum for Day Training Academy as needs change and as per customer requests, focus on developing strong relationships with all canines
  • Support Belly Up for Adoptions foster dog’s development & skills

Competencies & Qualifications:

  • Hands on experience as an Instructor (Certification required)
  • Available to teach weekdays:  morning and/or afternoons
  • Communication Effectively with Pet Parents, all Canines, and with other Instructors
  • Vast knowledge of training styles, approaches, and understand Canine Learning Theory
  • Curriculum development: foundation classes, core “Life Skills” classes, Enrichment Activities, Confidence Building, Fun Activities, etc.
  • Developing innovative Canine Enrichment Programs
  • Strong understanding of Dog to Dog AND Dog to Human communication
  • Benevolent Leadership Style
  • Experienced using a variety of Training tools and approaches so all canines are set up for success.  All dogs learn differently and its our job to find out what that is to help them succeed

BRK Training/Pet Parent Instructor

Expectations

  • Effective communication with all Pet Parents understanding that each parent and canine learn differently
  • Experience handling group class Instruction effectively (dogs and humans)
  • Benevolent Leadership Style
  • Proven ability to work with all breeds, ages, sizes, etc.
  • Great communication skills with Dogs AND Humans
  • Treats all canines and their Pet Parents with respect
  • Flexible Schedule – classes are offered evenings, weekends and weekdays

Necessary Requirements:

  • Extensive knowledge/application of Canine Learning Theory
  • Ability to read/interpret Canine Body Language
  • Application of positive reinforcement training  techniques
  • Considerable knowledge of a variety of “tools” available  (EZ walkers, Gentle Leader, Martingale Collars, enrichment activities, etc)
  • Educates/Coach Pet Parents about the “what”, “why”  and “how” to work with their canines
  • Teach classes so dogs and owners are having fun and learning together
  • Teach humans how to effectively communicate with and understand their canines’
  • Understand that dogs have different drives and varied motivations
  • Approach learning opportunities which allow each canine to progress at his/her own speed and are not forced into situations that he/she isn’t comfortable with or ready for
  • Communicate Effectively with Pet Parents, all Canines and other Instructors
  • Classroom Instruction experience and in privates settings
  • Strong understanding of Dog to Dog AND Dog to Human communication
  • Benevolent Leadership Style

Additional Considerations

Flexible: classes are offered at various times during the week (days, nights and weekends
Hands on Trainer Experience is a must (Certification strongly preferred)
Curriculum development ideas from beginner classes through more advances classes while helping to develop new programs as needed or requested

Bellyrub Klub Off Leash Play Attendant/Pet Care Specialist

Overview

Engage in activities with all canines, oversee play, monitor behavior, enrichment activities and help create safe and fun Off Leash Play Groups, exercising each canine’s physical and mental needs

  • Participate in cleaning projects throughout the day and as needed
  • Work with and care for our Belly Up for Adoption Rescue dogs.  (They even participate in our Off Leash Groups!!)

  • Ability to understand/recognize a variety of Canine Play Styles
  • Passion for all canines
  • Must be able to develop strong relationships/leadership skills with ALL canines
  • Knowledge of Dog to Dog Communication & Dog to Human Communication
  • Knowledge of Basic Obedience commands and how to illicit behaviors from dogs in play sessions (willingness to learn)
  • Desire to continue to further your education about Dogs
  • Concern for safety, physical and emotional and well- being of all canines
  • Career minded
