...Where every day is a Bellyrub Day!
I graduated from Montini and, starting fall of 2010, I will be a freshman at UIC. I will be majoring in Biological Sciences, although my first choice was Zooology because I love working with animals. Working at the BRK is fun and entertaining. I enjoy seeing all the dogs and being able to interact with them. I used to have a chocolate lab named Coco who, if you let her swim in the pond, would never come out! I'm excited to be living on campus in Chicago and I'm looking forward to college life. I hope to continue working with animals, especially dogs, in the future. They are so carefree to be with. When most of us talk to our dogs, we tend to forget they're not people.
Originally from Waukegan, I retired from Abbott Labs after 19 years of service and moved to Lombard around 2006. We have 2 dogs: Anankin, a Shepherd/Doberman mix and Abby, a Great Pyrenees, plus our cat, Chumba. I have a daughter and 2 granddaughters - Lauren (16) and Leah (11) - who live in Mississippi. I like to browse flea markets and garage sales.
I love the beach and anything to do with being outside in the summer. I like working in the yard and going to casinos, and I like Nascar (Jeff Gordon is my favorite). Id really like to visit British Columbia.
I consider myself a positive person that likes to enjoy the simple things in life. If Ive learned anything in life its that things happen for a reason, not to take life too seriously, a sense of humor is a good thing and that everything usually works out.
I joined the Bellyrub Klub in February, 2009. Prior to that I was, and still am, a career homemaker after working 20 years in the medical field. We have a 3-year-old female Dalmatian, Tache (French for spot) who adds sparkle and humor to our family, loves long walks and performs tricks for food. Im married to a fabulous Frenchman and we have a gloriously sweet, smart and funny daughter Natalie, who started high school this fall. I enjoy all forms of exercise, especially yoga and dance. I also enjoy horseback riding and belly-rubbing your beautiful pups!! Thanks you each for that privilege.
I retired in June, 2007, after 35 years as an elementary P.E. teacher for grades K through 6 in the Villa Park school district. I took 2 weeks off to visit my family in Florida, and then went back to work part-time, working with Bellyrub Klub since the beginning.
I had two dogs of my own, Shadow, a Miniaure Schnauzer, and Blue, a Brittany/Cocker mix. I love dogs and really enjoy playing and working with them at the Klub.
Im a recent graduate of North Park University with a BA in Psychology and I'm currently in the middle of planning my wedding in 2010. Ive been around dogs my entire life ranging from small to large breeds with my current dog being my Yorkie, Brody. I have always been active in sports (Da Bears). I love running and have even run the Chicago Marathon. Im very big into the music and movie scene although scary movies still make me hide.
